As part of the project, Elemont will supply a gas turbine from Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe GmbH with a water waste-heat boiler to be erected at the Kielce CHP plant. Construction works on this project will begin next year.
The agreement was signed in Kielce by Maciej Jamkiewicz, Vice President of the Management Board of PGE Energia Ciepła S.A., and Tomasz Sadowski, President of the Management Board of Elemont.
Elemont, as the main contractor, will build a cogeneration system for PGE Energia Ciepła's CHP plant in Kielce, consisting of a gas turbine unit with a nominal electrical output of approximately 8 MWe and a water waste-heat boiler with an achievable thermal output in mains water of approximately 12 MWt. The project will include the construction of the plant necessary for the evacuation of thermal power, electrical power, the construction of connections and other infrastructure necessary for the operation of the Plant. The plant will be built on an undeveloped site owned by the PGE Energia Ciepła CHP plant, next to a gas-fired boiler plant under construction, which will consist of five water boilers with a total capacity of 160 MW.
- Elemont S.A. has been carrying out complex projects in energy, industry and environmental protection for more than 32 years. In recent years, however, our main focus has been on supporting our clients in their energy transition. The construction of the gas unit, based on a modern Kawasaki turbine with a waste-heat boiler, fits in perfectly with the policy of reducing emissions of harmful compounds into the atmosphere and producing clean energy for the city, providing residents with the cogeneration of 8 MW of electricity and 12 MW of heat. Tomasz Sadowski, CEO of Elemont, said.
