Elemont to build a flue gas treatment plant for ZEC Pabianice

aa

On 07.05.2019, Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej in Pabianice signed a contract for the construction of a flue gas treatment plant: dedusting, desulphurisation and denitrification in order to adapt the plant to the stringent environmental standards resulting from the 'BAT' conclusions implemented by the European Union, which will come into force from 2022.

As part of the tender process, Elemont was selected as the main contractor for the project, offering non-catalytic denitrification, semi-dry desulphurisation and dust removal in a bag filter. The effectiveness of the offered facility, depending on the technology, reaches up to 95% reduction of harmful compounds and the purity of the flue gases will be measured continuously 24/7. In addition, Elemont ensured reduction of CO emissions and the optional supply of a mercury reduction facility.

The project amounts to PLN 44,738,145.74 and is the ZEC's largest investment to date. The afcility will be built in two phases and commissioned in December 2020 and December 2021, respectively. Following the project, ZEC will reduce emissions of compounds to the levels required by the European directive, which will have a measurable impact on the air quality in the city.

Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej in Pabianice supplies 50% of the city with heat and is equipped with 3 type WR-25 014M and boilers and a h=120m smokestack. The thermal capacity of the plant is 95 MW.
